The Project

This project was conceived by Superprémio Ltd, as a way of projecting them on the web marketing business.

This project is based on 2 main objectives.

The first major objective is to use the community in order to create the Greatest Collaborative Digital Masterpiece on the web.

This Masterpiece is composed of more than 2 million points (DOT's) which will be customized by more than 2 million participants from around the world. But participation is not limited only to personalize the your DOT, it is possible to assign part of your life, by using a photo for this purpose. This moment also will be recorded in history. Your point will assume the dominant color of the photo.

You are part of it because you have join the project, you are part of it because your life (the people you love, your memories, etc..) are there also.

It ‘s the First Great Universal Masterpiece.

Upon completion of the Masterpiece and in order to perpetuate it, it will be available at www.onedotonelife.org indefinitely so anyone from anywhere in the world can see it.

The second major objective is Solidarity, we want to save more than 2 millions children’s life.

For each point sold, we donate a vaccine against measles.

Did you know that every day around the world dies about 600 children from measles?

Information Souce: UNICEF

In addition to supporting the fight against measles, we will also support a fantastic unique project, the EmbraceGlobal (www.embraceglobal.org), with a donation of € 300,000.

The EmbraceGlobal.org is developing low-cost incubators. This project is already at an advanced stage and with the support of OneDotOneLife, there is a forecast of selling the first incubators in the beginning of 2010.

An normal incubator cost around $ 20,000, the incubator that is being developed by Embrace costs just $ 25.

20 million premature and low-birth-weight (LBW) babies are born every year. In India alone, a third of all babies born are LBW. 80% of these births occur in rural areas of developing countries. 3.5 million of these babies die, while those that survive often develop life-long health problems like early onset of diabetes, heart disease, and low IQ. Sadly, these problems could be prevented with access to an incubator, a device that provides a stable thermal environment for the baby. This is critical for LBW infants. However, traditional incubators cost thousands of dollars, and are available primarily in urban hospitals. Even when available, they are largely in disrepair. Most rural parents cannot afford to get their babies to these urban hospitals.

Embrace is an incubator, designed to work in a rural healthcare center or at home. It uses no electricity, has no moving parts, is portable, and is safe and intuitive to use. It uses an innovative phase-change material (PCM) in a sleeping bag design to regulate a baby's temperature at 37C, critical for the infant's survival.

Embrace bridges the gap in healthcare available to a rural-born and an urban-born baby. It will improve the health of LBW babies who would otherwise die or develop serious medical conditions. It will also put an end to current unsafe practices of caring for LBW babies, including placing them under light bulbs or tying hot-water bottles to their bodies. One of the U.N. millennium development goals is the reduction of infant mortality by two-thirds by 2015.

"Embrace is a United States based nonprofit organization that aims to help the millions of vulnerable babies born every year in developing countries through a low cost infant warmer. Unlike traditional incubators that cost up to $20,000, the Embrace infant warmer can cost 1% of this. The device requires no electricity, has no moving parts, is portable and is safe and intuitive to use. We are thankful to be able to partner with and participate in OneDotOneLife."
